Birth with Us, Baby!
The benefits of a
trained doula are:
· The
recognition that birth is a key life experience that the mother will remember
all her life.
· Assistance
in preparing for and carrying out birth plans.
· Shared
knowledge of the birthing process.
· Continuous
emotional and physical (non-medical) support throughout labor.
· An
objective viewpoint that assists in getting the information needed to make
informed choices.
· Support
that compliments rather than displaces the partner and clinical care provider.
· Assistance
with breastfeeding.

Jennifer Icenogle Through the encouragement of a dear friend and midwife, I decided to meet the necessary requirements to attain certification as a doula. It is my honest belief that women need to be supported throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period. My purpose is to inform women. To let them know that birth is normal, that their bodies were specifically designed to give birth, and that much of what they go through is common to the millions and millions of woman who have given birth through the millennia. Indeed, it is a great honor to be a part of the joy, struggle, beauty, and strength of birth. |

Cynthia Jordan-Delaney I have been blessed to accompany birthing women and new families as a doula on and off since 2001. Since giving birth to our daughter in January 2009 and staying home full-time with her, I have experienced the life-changing, simultaneous demands and joys of mothering and amazing infant! Being a new mother has reinforced the importance of supportive, capable postpartum care for parents and babies, emphasizing nurturance and listening, confidence-building, and responsiveness to each family's changing needs. With the birth of each baby, the whole family is born (or reborn). |

Sasha Lindberg Currently I teach 4 and 8 week natural birth preparation classes. My classes are small with a lot of personal attention. I love that some of my best girlfriends are former students. My classes focus on the normalcy of birth and instill a confidence in the natural process, whether couples birth at home with midwives or in the hospital with doctors. In addition, I offer my services as a doula. I love the adrenalin rush that comes from helping a mom birth just the way she wants and the complete joy of seeing a baby be born into the world. I feel tremendously blessed to have found a way to make a positive difference in the world and can't imagine a better job. I've lived in the Gallatin Valley for 15 years and my heart is definitely in this place. I grew up in Lewistown where my dad is a horse trainer and my mom is a retired medical office manager. I have a fabulous husband, Mike, and two beautiful daughters, Katalyn and Isabella, and a very loyal Kelpie dog, Bear cub. I graduated from MSU with a Master's in History in 2000. These days teaching birthing, doula work and home schooling my girls keep me very busy. I can be reached at 388.0707. www.bellabirthing.com |
