Birth with Us, Baby!
The benefits of a
trained doula are:
· The
recognition that birth is a key life experience that the mother will remember
all her life.
· Assistance
in preparing for and carrying out birth plans.
· Shared
knowledge of the birthing process.
· Continuous
emotional and physical (non-medical) support throughout labor.
· An
objective viewpoint that assists in getting the information needed to make
informed choices.
· Support
that compliments rather than displaces the partner and clinical care provider.
· Assistance
with breastfeeding.

Laura Furniss I work with mothers and families of all kinds, but have a special place in my heart for and experience working with teenage and single mothers, both those with support and those without, and both those who choose to parent and those who choose adoption for their babies. As an adoptive mother of four children, adopted between the ages of 8 weeks and 14 years, I also have a passion for and experience in attachment parenting, adoptive breastfeeding, and grief issues regarding adoption, both in adoptive and birth parents. I have used these experiences in my work as a doula to help bring healing and empowerment, and to help mothers of all kinds in their journeys as women and as mothers. I would love to visit with you. Please call me at 406-579-8624, email me at healinghandsdoula@yahoo.com or visit my website at www.healinghandsbirth.com.

Jennifer Icenogle Through the encouragement of a dear friend and midwife, I decided to meet the necessary requirements to attain certification as a doula. It is my honest belief that women need to be supported throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period. My purpose is to inform women. To let them know that birth is normal, that their bodies were specifically designed to give birth, and that much of what they go through is common to the millions and millions of woman who have given birth through the millennia. Indeed, it is a great honor to be a part of the joy, struggle, beauty, and strength of birth. |

Sasha Lindberg Currently I teach 4 and 8 week natural birth preparation classes. My classes are small with a lot of personal attention. I love that some of my best girlfriends are former students. My classes focus on the normalcy of birth and instill a confidence in the natural process, whether couples birth at home with midwives or in the hospital with doctors. In addition, I offer my services as a doula. I love the adrenalin rush that comes from helping a mom birth just the way she wants and the complete joy of seeing a baby be born into the world. I feel tremendously blessed to have found a way to make a positive difference in the world and can't imagine a better job. I've lived in the Gallatin Valley for 15 years and my heart is definitely in this place. I grew up in Lewistown where my dad is a horse trainer and my mom is a retired medical office manager. I have a fabulous husband, Mike, and two beautiful daughters, Katalyn and Isabella, and a very loyal Kelpie dog, Bear cub. I graduated from MSU with a Master's in History in 2000. These days teaching birthing, doula work and home schooling my girls keep me very busy. I can be reached at 388.0707. www.bellabirthing.com |
